Israel’s Foreign Minister, Gideon Sa’ar, extended warm wishes to India’s External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar, and the people of India on the occasion of International Day of Yoga. Sa’ar highlighted the values of harmony, well-being, and resilience that yoga promotes, bringing nations and people closer together. This year’s theme for the 12th International Day of Yoga is “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” emphasizing the practice’s benefits for people of all ages. The United Nations recognizes yoga as a valuable tool for promoting balance, flexibility, strength, and mental well-being.
The Israel Embassy in India shared a video featuring Ambassador Reuven Azar and officials participating in yoga activities to mark the International Day of Yoga. EAM Jaishankar also joined in the celebrations by performing yoga in New Delhi. He emphasized the importance of integrating yoga into daily life, echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s sentiments. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Norway’s Ambassador to India, May Elin-Stener, were among the dignitaries who participated in yoga sessions.
May Elin-Stener, in a video message, extended greetings from Norway to India on the International Day of Yoga, emphasizing the celebration of health, well-being, and balance. She expressed gratitude to India for sharing the gift of yoga with the world.
