Israel and Hezbollah have agreed to a ceasefire, as reported by local media on Friday. Israeli officials stated that Israel would maintain a “security zone” in southern Lebanon and respond if attacked. Hezbollah’s parliamentary bloc member, Ibrahim al-Moussawi, mentioned that the group would uphold the ceasefire if Israel also respects its terms. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned against attacks on Israeli soldiers or territory, vowing to retaliate heavily for the killing of four soldiers in Lebanon.
Netanyahu expressed condolences for the fallen soldiers and emphasized Israel’s stance on not tolerating attacks. Following the deadly incident, he instructed the Israeli Defence Force (IDF) to strike Hezbollah forcefully. The IDF targeted over 80 terror sites and eliminated numerous terrorists, including hitting Hezbollah command posts in the Beqaa Valley. Netanyahu conducted a situation assessment with the Minister of Defence and the Chief of General Staff, reiterating Israel’s firm stance against any aggression towards its soldiers or land.
