Israel’s military has ordered the evacuation of residents in the city of Tyre in southern Lebanon due to escalating tensions with the “Iran-backed group” Hezbollah. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated the need for forceful action against Hezbollah in the area. Residents living near specific buildings have been instructed to move north of the Zahrani River for safety.
In response to Israeli airstrikes targeting Hezbollah sites in the village of Deir Aames, at least two individuals were killed and another injured, as reported by Lebanon’s National News Agency. The Israeli attacks have intensified across southern Lebanon, leading to rescue operations by Lebanon’s Civil Defense to assist civilians trapped in buildings damaged by airstrikes in Doueir and Nabatieh.
Hezbollah retaliated by targeting Israeli forces and military positions in Zawtar al Sharqiya in southern Lebanon. The group claimed to have struck an Israeli tank with a drone near Bustan Zattam and shelled Israeli soldiers and vehicles using various weapons. Israeli warplanes conducted additional strikes in southern Lebanon, including targeting a building in the Mashrouaa al Rouz area and areas in Tyre and the Rashidieh Palestinian refugee camp.
The Health Ministry of Lebanon reported that the death toll from Israeli attacks since March 2 has reached 3,269, with 9,840 individuals wounded as of May 27.
