Israel is planning to enhance its bilateral defence agreement with India by sharing technology and manufacturing military equipment in India. Israeli Consul General to Midwest India, Yaniv Revach, mentioned that the cooperation would extend to advanced defence systems like the Iron Dome. Prime Minister Netanyahu emphasized the importance of defence cooperation during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Israel.
Revach highlighted the existing strong defence cooperation between the two countries due to shared challenges. He expressed plans to broaden the agreement to include areas such as manufacturing in India and collaboration on defence systems like the Iron Dome. Israel aims to establish a new axis with India, African nations, and countries in the Middle East to address common security concerns.
In anticipation of Prime Minister Modi’s visit, Revach emphasized the significance of promoting initiatives to strengthen ties between India and Israel across various sectors. Israel’s Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, also expressed excitement about the visit, emphasizing the partnership’s focus on trust, innovation, and addressing contemporary challenges.
