Israeli forces intercepted a humanitarian aid flotilla bound for the Gaza Strip, which included two activists from a South Korean civic group. The vessel, Lina Al Nabulsi, carrying South Korean activist Kim Ah-hyun and Korean American activist Jonathan Victor Lee, was seized by the Israeli military near the Gaza Strip.
This incident follows the recent seizure of another aid flotilla, Kyriakos X, on Monday, which also had South Korean activist Kim Dong-hyeon on board along with activists from various countries. Instead of towing the boats as before, Israeli forces have chosen to detain the individuals on board and sink the vessels.
Kim Dong-hyeon is expected to reach an Israeli port soon, while the fate of the other two activists remains uncertain. The Kyriakos X departed from Greece on May 8, while the Lina Al Nabulsi set sail from Italy on May 2, with the Korean nationals defying a government travel ban to Gaza.
