Israel’s military chief, Eyal Zamir, expressed concerns about the fragility of the ceasefire declared in Lebanon, emphasizing the need for readiness to resume combat operations and address threats. The military’s focus remains on safeguarding communities in northern Israel amidst ongoing operations against Hezbollah. Zamir highlighted the significant blow suffered by Hezbollah, with the Israeli military neutralizing key mid-level commanders within the group.

US Vice President JD Vance reported progress in talks with Iran at a Swiss resort, expressing optimism for further advancements in addressing Tehran’s nuclear program and regional security issues. Vance acknowledged the delicate situation in Lebanon, where renewed fighting poses challenges to diplomatic efforts. Despite potential disagreements, negotiators have seen positive developments, indicating ongoing work towards resolution.
