Almost 10 days after a 48-year-old IT engineer from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) took his own life due to alleged harassment at his office in Pune’s Hinjewadi, the police are searching for three colleagues mentioned in his suicide note.
A case of abetment to suicide has been registered against two women and a man accused of harassment by the deceased, Amit Abhay Brahme. Brahme, who passed away on June 2, left behind a two-page note implicating his project managers, Archana and Shashwati, for harassing him. He also identified his male colleague, Vinod Palecha.
According to Senior Police Inspector Sandip Ghorpade, Brahme’s suicide note detailed how Archana and Shashwati, as project managers, troubled him with excessive work on the project and lowered his ratings. Brahme also alleged that the two managers denied him leave when his father and wife were unwell.
Ghorpade further mentioned that Brahme accused his colleague Vinod Palecha of harassment through false complaints of theft and cheating filed with the Hinjewadi police. TCS officials have been summoned to provide statements within two days at the police station.
In response to the incident, TCS expressed deep sorrow over the loss of Amit Brahme and extended condolences to his family. The company emphasized its commitment to employee well-being and stated that they are investigating the allegations against the two employees. TCS assured full cooperation with the ongoing investigation while refraining from further comments at this stage.
