He expressed optimism for further strengthening synergies across various sectors and within the India-European Union relationship.
In a letter to President Murmu, Matarella mentioned the expansion of bilateral cooperation through joint projects, scientific collaborations, and enhanced civil society interactions. He underscored the significance of the Joint Strategic Action Plan in enriching the partnership between India and Italy. Matarella also hoped for increased collaboration in all areas of the bilateral agenda and within the broader context of India-EU relations.
Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, recently met with PM Modi in New Delhi, affirming the deepening ties between the two countries. PM Modi described the relationship as strengthening and beneficial not only for India and Italy but also for the global community. The elevation of India-Italy relations to a Strategic Partnership in 2023 paved the way for a comprehensive agenda outlined in the 2025–2029 plan.
