Jack Jarvis has been selected to replace Safyaan Sharif in the Scotland squad for the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup due to Sharif’s right groin injury during a training session on February 12. Jarvis, who already has eight T20I caps for Scotland and was serving as a travelling reserve, has been approved by the Event Technical Committee (ETC) of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The ETC includes officials like Wasim Khan, Gaurav Saxena, Hemang Amin, and Shaun Pollock.
Scotland’s coaching staff and players had to quickly transition from pre-season training to tournament mode after a late invitation to the tournament less than three weeks ago. Despite a victory over Italy, Scotland faced defeats against the West Indies and England in front of a large crowd at Eden Gardens. Currently placed third in Group C, Scotland will play against Nepal in Mumbai and will need favorable results in their group to progress to the Super Eights.
Scotland’s entry into the tournament as a replacement for Bangladesh marks their fifth consecutive appearance at Men’s T20 World Cups. The squad includes players like Richie Berrington, Tom Bruce, and Mark Watt, with Jasper Davidson as a travelling reserve.
