Actor Jackie Shroff honored the late legendary actor Pran on what would have been his 106th birthday. Shroff shared a touching video montage on Instagram, featuring a black-and-white photo of Pran set to the song ‘Yari Hai Imaan Mera’ from the 1973 film Zanjeer. Pran, known for his villain roles, was a highly respected figure in Indian cinema for over six decades.
Pran, a prominent actor from the 1940s to the 1990s, was celebrated for his diverse roles in films. His career saw him transition from hero to villain and later to supporting and character roles. During the late 1940s to the 1970s, Pran’s portrayal of villains reached its peak, particularly in the 1950s and 1960s. He starred in several successful films like Madhumati, Zanjeer, and Amar Akbar Anthony.
Acknowledged for his contributions to Indian cinema, Pran was honored with the Padma Bhushan Award in 2001. His final film, Dosh, was released in 2007. Pran passed away at the age of 93 after battling a prolonged illness. Meanwhile, Jackie Shroff is set to appear in the upcoming comedy film “Welcome To The Jungle,” directed by Ahmed Khan.
