Former Jaypee Group chairman Jaiprakash Gaur expressed confidence in the Adani Group’s acquisition of Jaiprakash Associates Ltd, praising the Committee of Creditors for a fair process. Gaur stated that he believes the Adani Group, under Gautam Adani’s leadership, will uphold Jaiprakash Associates’ legacy responsibly and fulfill stakeholders’ aspirations. He extended his best wishes to the Adani Group and appreciated the transparent process conducted by the Committee of Creditors and the Resolution Professional.
Jaiprakash Associates Limited, founded in 1979, holds significant importance beyond being a company, according to Gaur. He emphasized the group’s contributions to nation-building, including iconic projects like the Buddh International Circuit and major hydropower developments. Despite facing financial challenges leading to insolvency proceedings, Gaur highlighted the group’s dedication to working with stakeholders for a credible resolution.
In a recent development, the Supreme Court declined to halt the implementation of Adani Enterprises’ resolution plan for Jaiprakash Associates, dealing a blow to the Vedanta Group. The court, led by Chief Justice Surya Kant, cited the upcoming final hearing before the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal and opted not to interfere at this stage.
