Acting on the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) headquarters’ instructions, the Jaipur Nagar unit’s ACB apprehended Jagdish Prasad Meena, the Block Development Officer (BDO) of panchayat samiti Sawai Madhopur, who also served as the District Project Manager. Meena was caught red-handed receiving a bribe of Rs 1,00,000.
The ACB received a complaint alleging that Meena demanded bribes from the complainant and two colleagues to retain their posts and clear pending bills. He pressured the complainant to collect the bribe from the colleagues and deliver it to him.
A trap operation was conducted under Deputy Inspector General of Police Anand Sharma’s supervision, leading to Meena’s arrest while accepting the bribe at his residence in Vivekananda Nagar at Kota. Legal proceedings are ongoing under ACB’s direction for further investigation and a case will be filed under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
