External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had a phone call with Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono to talk about the West Asia conflict and bilateral relations. They agreed to hold a Joint Commission meeting soon. The discussion comes amidst the ongoing conflict in West Asia triggered by US-Israel strikes on Iran.
EAM Jaishankar has been actively engaging with various nations regarding the West Asia situation. He recently spoke with officials from Russia, Iran, France, and Oman to stay connected amid the tense security environment in West Asia. Jaishankar also emphasized the importance of de-escalation, dialogue, and safeguarding Indian nationals in the region.
In separate conversations, Jaishankar discussed the West Asia conflict with EU High Representative Kaja Kallas, French counterpart Jean-Noel Barrot, and Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi. He also engaged with South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun and German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul to address the ongoing conflict and bilateral relations.
