External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met with the French Senate Friendship Group, led by Senator Mireille Jouve in New Delhi. They discussed various aspects of the bilateral ties, expressing confidence that regular parliamentary exchanges will strengthen the Special Global Strategic Partnership.
Earlier, the France–India Parliamentary Friendship Group, under Senator Jouve, met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla at the Parliament House. Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in various sectors under the ‘Horizon 2047 Roadmap’ and exploring opportunities for technological collaboration.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri co-chaired the India–France Foreign Office Consultations with Secretary General of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs Martin Briens in Paris. The talks encompassed defense, civil nuclear energy, space, cyber cooperation, AI, innovation, and initiatives to bolster human and cultural ties amidst global and regional developments.
During his Paris visit, Misri also met with French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noel Barrot, to discuss bilateral cooperation and address ongoing global challenges, including the Middle East situation.
