External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for revolutionizing the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and India’s foreign policy over the past 12 years. Jaishankar highlighted various government initiatives, emphasizing the seamless passport issuance and document attestation processes for citizens. The MEA has extended significant support to Indians abroad through Embassies and the increased utilization of the Indian Community Welfare Fund.
India’s response to global crises, such as evacuating citizens from conflict zones like Ukraine, Afghanistan, Sudan, and Israel, was also lauded by Jaishankar. He mentioned the establishment of digital platforms for grievance redressal and feedback mechanisms. The MEA has facilitated Indian access to the global workforce, with 21 mobility partnerships established to date, supporting Indian businesses in gaining market access and boosting exports.
In a statement, Jaishankar highlighted the entry of Indian products and services into new markets through development projects, welfare measures for Indian students abroad, and the promotion of Indian culture worldwide. The Minister underscored the opening of 44 Embassies and Consulates to cater to the needs of Indians overseas, emphasizing the continuous efforts of Indian diplomacy for the nation’s benefit.
