He stressed that Hinduism, known as Sanatana Dharma, has historically promoted diversity and coexistence, allowing various faiths to flourish. Sinha pointed out that India’s rich cultural heritage advocates for mutual respect among different religions, offering a message of peace to the world.
In a world marked by conflicts and intolerance, L-G Sinha underscored the relevance of Indian philosophy in bridging divides. He emphasized the core values of Sanatana Dharma and Indian thought, which advocate for unity amidst diversity. Sinha urged the younger generation to uphold these principles and promote peace through mutual respect and understanding.
Sinha described India as a unifying concept that promotes the idea of humanity living together as a global family. He emphasized the importance of ‘Indianness’ or ‘Bhartiyata,’ which advocates for equal respect for all faiths, the pursuit of truth, and unity in diversity. Sinha highlighted the teachings of ancient Indian texts like the Vedas and Upanishads, emphasizing their emphasis on harmonious coexistence among people of different beliefs.
The L-G further elaborated on the concept of ‘Kashmiriyat,’ which embodies the spirit of ‘Indianness’ and reflects India’s ethos of respecting all religions and cultures. He noted the influence of Sufi saints and Islamic scholars in India, who were inspired by Indian spirituality and ideals of coexistence. Sinha emphasized that India’s identity lies in its acceptance of diverse faiths and traditions, promoting harmony and inclusivity.
