Leaders in Jammu and Kashmir criticized the Pakistani Army for its actions in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) where over 20 people were reportedly killed during police action on protestors. Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (NC) leader Shafqat Mir denounced the incident, labeling it a crime and emphasizing the need to speak out against it.
Mir highlighted the unfortunate situation in PoK, attributing the protests to rising unemployment and frustration among the youth. He contrasted the behavior of the Indian and Pakistani armies, praising the Indian Army for its kindness and humanity, while criticizing the Pakistani Army for its alleged inhumanity towards civilians.
Political Analyst Farooq Wani condemned the Pakistani soldiers’ actions as “completely inhuman” and called for global leaders to address the incident. Wani stressed the need for PoK to be integrated into India officially, asserting that Pakistan’s control over the region is untenable in the long run.
