Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha highlighted that joining the Union Territory’s police service goes beyond a career decision; it signifies becoming part of a legacy steeped in sacrifice. He distributed appointment letters to about 4,000 newly recruited constables at the Armed Police Complex in Zewan. The recruits were chosen through a transparent process led by the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB).
The Lt Governor commended the new constables and urged them to fulfill their responsibilities with integrity, impartiality, and a strong dedication to national duty. He stressed that joining the police force is not just a job but a commitment to a history marked by sacrifices. Sinha expressed confidence in the recruits’ ability to maintain the honor of the esteemed force.
Acknowledging the contributions of the Jammu and Kashmir Police in fostering peace and development in the region, the Lt Governor praised their unwavering dedication and sacrifices. He lauded the force for its selfless service, commitment to duty, and public trust, emphasizing its excellence in upholding law and conducting counter-terrorism activities.
Sinha also discussed the evolving landscape of internal security and advocated for greater integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in police operations. He encouraged the force to strategize for the future and adapt to new challenges. The Lt Governor warned about modern threats like cybercrime, narco-terrorism, and digital fraud driven by technology, emphasizing the need for vigilance and preparedness.
