Jammu and Kashmir Police have attached property valued at Rs 93 lakh in Chandigarh related to an NDPS case. The action was part of a crackdown on narcotics trafficking, with a residential property in Chandigarh linked to the case being seized.
The case, originating from January 14 this year, involved the apprehension of Arun Singh in Jammu with 5.61 grams of heroin. Following this, an FIR under NDPS Act sections was filed, leading to the discovery of a broader drug trafficking network and financial transactions associated with the illegal drug trade.
Further investigation led the police to Chandigarh, where the brother of the main accused was found residing. It was revealed that a residential property in Chandigarh’s Sector 38-A was allegedly obtained through proceeds from illicit narcotics activities. Subsequently, the police, under NDPS Act provisions, attached the property as part of their efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.
Jammu and Kashmir police have intensified anti-drug operations under the 100-day-long Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan. Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha has announced stringent measures against drug offenders, including the confiscation of documents like Aadhaar cards and passports, driving license revocation, and property seizure derived from drug-related activities.
