In a significant development related to the Pahalgam terror attack, a Jammu court has issued a non-bailable warrant against Hafiz Saeed based on the National Investigation Agency’s request. The warrant was issued after Hafiz Saeed was identified as the mastermind in a supplementary chargesheet filed recently.

The court, acting on the NIA’s application, emphasized the necessity of arresting and interrogating Hafiz Saeed. The accused, a designated terrorist and founder of the banned group LeT, is evading arrest and is believed to be operating from Pakistan.

Stressing the importance of a thorough investigation, the court ordered the arrest and custodial interrogation of Hafiz Saeed. The warrant has been forwarded to the DIG NIA, Jammu, for execution as per the law.

Twenty-six individuals lost their lives in the Pahalgam attack in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22, 2025. The NIA had previously filed the initial chargesheet in December 2025.
