The Northern Railway officials in Jammu announced that the Jammu railway station is fully prepared to welcome devotees participating in the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. The station has made special arrangements to ensure a safe and comfortable journey for the lakhs of Lord Shiva devotees arriving from various parts of the country.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Uchit Singhal, led a team of officers in inspecting the Jammu Tawi Railway Station to assess the facilities provided to devotees during the yatra. The station has set up a spacious passenger holding area with seating, lighting, fans, coolers, and drinking water facilities for the convenience of the passengers.
To maintain cleanliness, the station has deployed housekeeping staff round the clock, and quick watering arrangements have been made on platforms to ensure passengers have access to water without inconvenience. Additionally, a 24×7 help desk, along with railway staff, scouts, and guides, is assisting passengers with train schedules, medical aid, and other necessary information.
For crowd control and smooth passenger movement, a senior railway supervisor is present at the station 24×7, and extra staff including ticket checkers and security personnel are monitoring the platforms. CCTV cameras have been installed for surveillance, and a war room is operational for 24-hour security monitoring. The railway administration has urged all Amarnath pilgrims to register before their journey, purchase tickets from authorized counters, and seek assistance from designated help desks or the Rail Madad Helpline ‘139’ if needed.
The Jammu Division of Northern Railway extends best wishes to all devotees embarking on the Baba Amarnath Yatra for a safe and auspicious journey.
