Andhra Pradesh’s Jana Sena party has set up a three-member committee to look into accusations against its MLA Arava Sridhar regarding sexual exploitation of a woman. The committee, appointed by Jana Sena under the leadership of Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, includes T. Sivashankar, T. Ramadevi, and T.C. Varun. The party has instructed MLA Sridhar to provide a clarification within seven days and refrain from party activities until the committee presents its findings.
A video emerged on social media where a woman claimed that the MLA had sexually exploited her for more than a year under false promises of marriage and coerced her into having abortions. The woman, a government employee, alleged that the MLA had subjected her to repeated abuse and threats. She mentioned that the MLA even pressured her to divorce her husband.
MLA Sridhar has refuted the woman’s allegations, attributing them to false propaganda and manipulated videos. He defended his character by highlighting his previous role as a Sarpanch and expressed his commitment to public service inspired by Jana Sena President Pawan Kalyan. Sridhar also mentioned facing harassment for the past six months and vowed to take legal action against those responsible for tarnishing his image.
