Janata Unnayan Party (JUP) President Humayun Kabir participated in the West Bengal Assembly elections’ first phase by casting his vote. The voting process covers 152 Assembly constituencies across 16 districts in West Bengal. Kabir, a former Trinamool Congress leader, is contesting from Rejinagar and Naoda constituencies.
Kabir emphasized the need for inclusive development in the state, free from political violence. He highlighted the importance of maintaining harmony between Hindus and Muslims for overall progress. Kabir expressed concerns about inducements offered by the Trinamool Congress affecting his party’s electoral prospects.
Speaking on democratic participation, Kabir stressed the significance of voting rights for all citizens. He noted the peaceful conduct of the elections so far, with no major disruptions reported. Kabir, who previously won the 2021 elections from Bharatpur constituency, emphasized the smooth functioning of the polling process.
