Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi arrived in New Delhi for a three-day official visit to participate in the 16th India-Japan Annual Summit. The visit aims to strengthen the Special Strategic and Global Partnership between the two countries.
During the Human Resource Mobility Forum, Japan’s Ambassador to India highlighted the importance of advancing people-to-people exchanges. The forum emphasized collaboration in skill-based mobility between India and Japan.
Takaichi expressed the significance of Japan-India cooperation amidst the current international scenario. She outlined key areas for collaboration, including deepening the strategic partnership, economic security, and enhancing business ties.
Takaichi underscored the shared responsibility of India and Japan in maintaining peace in the Indo-Pacific region. She anticipated discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on realizing a Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP) and strengthening bilateral ties.
Takaichi is scheduled for a ceremonial reception at the Rashtrapati Bhavan and will hold the India-Japan Annual Summit with Prime Minister Modi. The visit includes participation in a business forum, marking her first official visit to India.
