Japan’s Ambassador to India, Ono Keiichi, highlighted the upcoming visit of Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi to New Delhi as a significant opportunity for enhancing people-to-people exchanges between the two countries. The remarks were made during the Japan Session of the Human Resource Mobility Forum organized by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
The Human Resource Mobility Forum emphasized the potential for increased collaboration between India and Japan, particularly in skill-based mobility. The forum showcased emerging pathways for fostering cooperation between the two nations in this regard, as shared by the MEA.
Scheduled for a three-day visit, Japanese PM Sanae Takaichi is set to arrive in New Delhi, where she will participate in the 16th India-Japan Annual Summit. Ahead of her departure, Takaichi underscored the importance of Japan’s partnership with India amidst the current global scenario, expressing her intent to strengthen ties in strategic areas such as economic security and business collaboration.
During her visit, Takaichi aims to engage in discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on various aspects, including deepening the Japan-India strategic partnership and promoting a Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP) vision. The visit will also witness the convening of the Japan-India Joint Economic Forum, involving over 150 Japanese companies and business entities, to bolster economic cooperation and innovation between the two nations.
