Gujarat Titans’ player Jason Holder hailed his remarkable catch to dismiss Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s captain Rajat Patidar as one of his best, following a stellar all-round performance that led to a convincing four-wicket win at Narendra Modi Stadium. Holder’s impactful display, which included three catches and two wickets, played a crucial role in limiting RCB to 155 runs in 19.2 overs. In a video released by IPL, Holder expressed his focus on reaching the ball and avoiding a collision with Kagiso Rabada during the catch.
During RCB’s innings, in the eighth over, Patidar, batting on 19, attempted a pull shot, only to be caught brilliantly by Holder at deep backward square leg. Despite some confusion and debate among RCB players regarding the catch touching the ground, the third umpire upheld the decision after a review, ruling Patidar out. Holder emphasized his team-first approach, stating his willingness to perform any role assigned to him for the team’s benefit.
Praising the team’s energy and recent form, Holder highlighted the positive atmosphere within the group. He expressed satisfaction with the team’s recent performances, noting victories in crucial matches that have boosted their confidence. Despite the success, Holder believes there is room for improvement and aims for a more flawless performance in upcoming games. With this win, the Gujarat Titans have strengthened their position in the standings with 10 points from five matches, gearing up to face the Punjab Kings on May 3.
