Reacting to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s criticism of the Congress and its leadership, JD(U) National Spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan Prasad expressed concerns that the party might become politically irrelevant if Rahul Gandhi continued to lead in the same manner. Prasad highlighted the growing dissatisfaction within the Congress and cautioned that the party could encounter significant challenges unless it engaged in profound introspection.
Supporting Shah’s remarks, Uttar Pradesh Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar also criticized Rahul Gandhi, stating that Shah’s actions were in the country’s best interest while Gandhi consistently opposed national interests. Rajbhar emphasized the correctness of Shah’s stance and echoed the need for the Congress to reevaluate its strategies.
The comments from Prasad and Rajbhar followed Amit Shah’s recent comments targeting Rahul Gandhi and the Congress during an event near Ahmedabad. Shah emphasized that a political party cannot expect electoral success by opposing popular sentiments and expressed his inability to make Rahul Gandhi comprehend this “simple logic.”
Shah further asserted that Rahul Gandhi should not be surprised by electoral defeats, predicting losses for the Congress in the upcoming Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu and West Bengal. He underscored the BJP’s success by aligning with public sentiment on various issues, contrasting it with the Congress’s opposition to initiatives like the Ram Mandir, surgical strikes, Article 370 abrogation, Uniform Civil Code, anti-triple talaq law, and actions against illegal Bangladeshi immigrants.
Continuing his criticism, Shah questioned how a party could secure votes by opposing what the people favor, emphasizing the challenge of making Rahul Gandhi understand this fundamental principle.
