A Janata Dal (United) (JD-U) leader, Manish Kumar, was seriously injured in an alleged attack by a group of assailants near Rajbazar under the Jehanabad Town Police Station limits in Bihar. The incident, which occurred while Kumar was assisting a fellow villager with medical treatment, left him with multiple injuries from sharp-edged weapons and significant blood loss. He has been admitted to Jehanabad Sadar Hospital for treatment and is in a critical condition.
Residents and companions quickly took Kumar to the hospital after the attack, where doctors are closely monitoring his condition. In his initial statement to the police, Kumar identified one of the alleged attackers as Ankit alias Laddu Narayan, who, along with several unidentified associates, reportedly assaulted him with sharp-edged weapons and firearms. The attackers allegedly threatened Kumar, claiming they would continue illegal activities in the area.
Following the incident, police from Jehanabad Town Police Station visited the hospital to record Kumar’s statement and gather information from his family. An investigation is underway to explore all possible angles, including the alleged connection to opposition against the narcotics trade in the region. Authorities are conducting raids to apprehend the named suspect and others involved in the attack, with further legal action pending based on collected evidence.
