Commenting on the Union Budget 2026–27, JD(U) National Spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan Prasad described it as a forward-looking budget in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Viksit Bharat’ vision for 2047.
Ranjan highlighted that the budget sets a strong groundwork for long-term progress, showcasing the government’s dedication to inclusive growth, infrastructure development, and economic stability. He emphasized that decisions made under PM Modi’s leadership have bolstered the nation’s economy and propelled it towards becoming a developed country.
The spokesperson noted that the budget’s measures are poised to stimulate growth in various sectors, ensuring widespread benefits and marking a significant stride towards realizing the vision of a developed India. He also lauded the positive impact of budgetary allocations on Bihar, citing the inclusion of the Varanasi–Siliguri high-speed rail corridor that traverses a substantial portion of the state, promising enhanced rail infrastructure and connectivity.
Rajeev Ranjan further underscored the thriving fisheries sector in Bihar, commending the special attention accorded to it in the budget. Regarding the overall economic scenario, he pointed out India’s remarkable growth rate of 6.8%, outpacing major economies and progressing at a rate two to three times faster. He expressed confidence in the country’s trajectory, citing a projected growth rate of 7.4% and dismissing opposition criticism as unfounded.
Reacting to reports of Pakistan’s refusal to play a T20 World Cup match against India, Rajeev Ranjan criticized the Pakistan Cricket Board’s stance as perplexing and unacceptable. He called for decisive action by the International Cricket Council (ICC), emphasizing the need to hold Pakistan accountable for its inconsistent approach to international cricket.
