Janata Dal(U) National Spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan Prasad expressed concerns about the Congress-led INDIA bloc following critical remarks from DMK leaders. Prasad highlighted a decline in public support for the alliance, suggesting a potential threat of defeat. He noted the emergence of a strong alliance led by the BJP, AIADMK, PMK, and others in Tamil Nadu.
Responding to DMK’s Madurai district secretary G. Thalapathi’s comments, Prasad criticized Congress for its diminishing popularity and organizational weakness. Thalapathi had questioned Congress’ power-sharing demands in Tamil Nadu, emphasizing the alliance’s formation under leaders like M.K. Stalin, Mamata Banerjee, and Akhilesh Yadav.
JD(U) MP Dileshwar Kamait raised concerns about Congress’ political future, claiming the party faces potential extinction with only four MLAs in Bihar. Kamait alleged a lack of voter and legislator confidence in Congress. Meanwhile, Thalapathi warned of BJP’s growing influence in Tamil Nadu and praised Chief Minister Stalin for upholding Tamil identity and state rights.
