In a concerning turn of events, the Jhalmuri vendor, known for serving Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Bengal Assembly election campaign, is receiving death threats from unidentified international numbers. The vendor, Vikram Sao, disclosed that he has been receiving menacing calls from Pakistan and Bangladesh regularly, raising fears for his safety and that of his family.
Following PM Modi’s impromptu visit to his shop, where he sampled the local snack, the Jhalmuri vendor gained sudden fame, attracting attention nationally. However, this newfound celebrity status has now taken a dark turn as Sao expressed concerns over the threatening calls he has been receiving. He mentioned that the callers from Pakistan and Bangladesh have been issuing threats of violence, including bomb threats and gestures of intimidation.
Vikram Sao shared that the callers, who have not referenced his interaction with the Prime Minister, have resorted to abusive language and threats of harm. Despite not engaging with most calls, Sao described a continuous stream of threatening communication, including WhatsApp messages predicting his death in a bomb explosion. The situation has prompted the police to initiate an investigation and provide security to the vendor and his family.
