Hockey India announced that Jharkhand Chief Minister, Hemant Soren, will attend the women’s final of the Hockey India League on January 10 in Ranchi. The event will also see Jharkhand Minister Sudivya Kumar and FIH President Dato Tayyab Ikram as Guests of Honour, with MLA Kalpana Soren as the Distinguished Guest.
The final match will feature SG Pipers against Shrachi Bengal Tigers, two teams known for their strong performance both in attack and defense. The presence of esteemed figures at the event highlights the league’s significance in promoting women’s hockey in India.
Hockey India President Dilip Tirkey expressed pride in hosting the Chief Minister and other dignitaries, emphasizing the government’s continuous backing for the sport and the league’s international recognition. Secretary General Bhola Nath Singh praised the Women’s Hero Hockey India League for providing a platform for female hockey players, noting the event’s role in empowering women’s hockey in the country.
