Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren handed out appointment letters to 1,042 intermediate and graduate-trained assistant teachers for government schools in Jharkhand. The event took place at the Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium in Ranchi, where the Chief Minister encouraged the new teachers to contribute significantly to the education system.
Soren congratulated the appointees, emphasizing their role in shaping the future generations. He highlighted the pivotal role teachers play in molding children’s personalities and guiding society. The Chief Minister stressed the importance of public trust in the education system and urged the teachers to uphold it through dedication and hard work.
Education was underscored as the cornerstone of positive social change by Soren. He expressed that a more informed society can only be achieved through knowledge. Soren called on all teachers to act as the government’s representatives and promote education, awareness, and social unity, especially in remote areas.
Among the appointed teachers, 274 will teach Classes I to V, while 768 will handle Classes VI to VIII. The distribution includes 387 assistant teachers from the social science stream, 231 from mathematics and science, and 150 from language subjects. Various districts in Jharkhand received different numbers of assistant teachers, with Palamu having the highest count at 123.
