Jharkhand Police have made two additional arrests in the murder case of Himanshu Singh, a Karni Sena leader, bringing the total number of arrests to 16. The investigation has led to the recovery of a scooter believed to have aided the main suspect in evading capture after the crime. City SP Lalit Kumar Meena confirmed the identities of the arrested individuals as Raghavendra Kumar and Ganesh Machhua.
Based on interrogation details, the police have recovered a TVS Activa scooter allegedly used to transport and hide the main suspect following the murder, facilitating their escape. The fatal incident occurred on June 27 outside the Double Down (DD) Bar in Jamshedpur, where Himanshu Singh was fatally attacked with sharp weapons. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was subsequently formed to delve into the case.
During the investigation, it was revealed that Ganesh Machhua played a crucial role in aiding the prime suspects, including Vishwanath Mandal and others, in eluding capture post the crime. Vishwanath Mandal, the main accused with a bounty on his head, surrendered before a Jamshedpur court recently. Neeraj Singh, the bar owner, was among the earlier arrests made in connection with the case.
The police recovered various sharp weapons like choppers, axes, and knives during the probe. Ganesh Machhua, who has a criminal history related to illegal liquor trade, is among the arrested individuals. All 16 accused associated with the murder are now in custody, with the investigation nearing its conclusion and the chargesheet set to be filed soon.
