J&K Lieutenant Governor Launches Drug-Free Campaign in Budgam

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha emphasized the importance of combating drug addiction, stating that it weakens families and society. He participated in a campaign in Budgam aimed at creating a drug-free environment and assured full administrative support in addressing the issue. Sinha urged families, organizations, and leaders to join the initiative and announced the formation of a ‘Parents Brigade’ to identify and assist individuals at risk of drug abuse.

The Lieutenant Governor stressed the need for a collective effort to tackle drug addiction, highlighting the impact on youth and society. He emphasized the role of families in early detection and intervention, aiming to prevent the spread of drugs in communities. Sinha called for a shift in societal attitudes towards addiction, advocating for support and understanding for those affected.

In his address, Sinha linked drug abuse to national security concerns, citing its connection to terrorism and radicalization. He underscored the importance of public awareness and collaboration in combating drug trafficking, which fuels criminal activities. The Lieutenant Governor urged active participation from citizens in reporting suspicious activities and assured swift action against drug-related crimes.
