Jammu and Kashmir police have seized assets worth Rs 1.5 crore from a well-known drug dealer in Kulgam district. The attached properties include 6 shops, 5 godowns, a tin shed, and a plinth situated in Village Manigam, belonging to Mohd Ashraf Khanday. These assets were identified as proceeds of crime linked to drug trafficking activities.
The seizure was carried out under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act after due legal procedures. The properties were confirmed to be acquired through illicit drug trafficking and directly associated with drug peddling operations. The accused is connected to a case under Sections 8/15 of the NDPS Act.
Kulgam Police’s action is part of their ongoing efforts to disrupt the financial networks of drug traffickers. SSP Kulgam, Anayat Ali Choudhary, emphasized a zero-tolerance stance against drug-related crimes. He warned of severe consequences for those involved in drug trafficking, including property attachment and legal prosecution.
Choudhary stressed that illegal gains from drug activities will be confiscated and individuals will face legal repercussions. He urged the public to assist law enforcement by providing information to combat drug abuse and protect society from its harmful effects.
