Jharkhand Mukti Morcha’s Baijnath Ram and NDA-backed Independent Parimal Nathwani emerged victorious in the Rajya Sabha elections in Jharkhand. Meanwhile, Congress-supported candidate Pranav Jha faced defeat. Baijnath Ram secured 31 votes, with Parimal Nathwani receiving 28 votes, while two votes in his favor were deemed invalid. Pranav Jha garnered 21 votes, with one vote canceled.
Both the INDIA bloc and NDA-supported candidates each clinched one seat in the Rajya Sabha elections in the state. Parimal Nathwani expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and the NDA and BJP leadership for his win. He shared his appreciation on social media for being elected for the fourth term as a Member of Rajya Sabha.
BJP MP Nishikant Dubey congratulated Parimal Nathwani on his victory, highlighting the defeat of the @INCIndia candidate who received 20 votes. Voting, which saw the participation of all 81 MLAs, took place in the Assembly complex. The counting process commenced in the evening following peaceful polling, with results declared subsequently.
The Rajya Sabha election in Jharkhand witnessed significant political interest, with Baijnath Ram representing the INDIA bloc and Pranav Jha from Congress. Parimal Nathwani contested as an NDA-backed Independent candidate. Both factions conducted multiple meetings and strategic exercises before the polls to ensure unity among their legislators.
