A joint cleanliness drive took place at Badrinath Dham involving personnel from the Police, ITBP, and SDRF. The initiative, themed “Clean Dham… Safe Dham,” focused on cleaning the temple premises, Tapt Kund, riverbanks, and surrounding areas. The campaign aimed to promote hygiene and cleanliness among devotees and visitors.
In response to the increasing number of pilgrims on the Char Dham Yatra, all personnel participated enthusiastically in the cleanliness efforts. Equipped with cleaning tools, they not only cleared litter and waste but also raised awareness about the importance of cleanliness. The drive targeted plastic waste, litter, and garbage in and around the temple premises and the Tapt Kund area.
The personnel emphasized the collective responsibility of maintaining the sanctity of the holy shrine to devotees. They urged pilgrims to dispose of waste properly and avoid littering or leaving plastic waste in the vicinity. The ongoing Char Dham Yatra has seen a significant turnout this season, with over 660,000 devotees having completed the pilgrimage.
The Char Dham of Uttarakhand, a revered Hindu pilgrimage circuit in the Indian Himalayas, includes the sacred shrines of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. These sites hold immense religious significance, with Kedarnath dedicated to Lord Shiva and Badrinath to Lord Vishnu. The pilgrimage traditionally starts from Yamunotri, then proceeds to Gangotri, Kedarnath, and finally Badrinath.
