The Joint Commanders’ Conference, themed ‘Military Capability in New Domains’, commences in Jaipur on Thursday and runs until Friday. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan will attend the conference, coinciding with the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor, a significant tri-service operation showcasing India’s political will and military strength.
Modern warfare, driven by artificial intelligence and unmanned systems, is becoming more complex, extending beyond traditional battlefields. The conference will address challenges in cyber, space, and cognitive warfare, aiming to enhance capability development for a future-ready force with a competitive advantage.
Discussions will emphasize accelerating indigenisation and Aatmanirbharta in defence production by nurturing domestic innovation and civil-military collaboration. The event will showcase futuristic applications and introduce new doctrines on future warfare concepts and operational strategies.
To mark the anniversary, a special film on Operation Sindoor, a past operation against Pakistan, will be screened. Rajasthan’s strategic importance led to Jaipur being chosen as the celebration venue due to its proximity to Pakistan’s border and key military installations.
The Indian Air Force conducted precision airstrikes targeting terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and PoK a year ago. The operation lasted about 25 minutes, hitting nine terrorist camps across seven locations. The Army’s social media post following the strikes declared, “Justice has been done.” Jaipur, previously hosting the Army Day Parade this year, showcased modern combat capabilities to the public.
