Jaipur, Aug 8 (IANS) A grand Tricolour rally will be held in Jaipur on Sunday under the leadership of Union Health Minister JP Nadda, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president and MP Madan Rathod.

The rally will feature patriotic programmes, with “Jana Gana Mana” and “Vande Mataram” expected to echo through the streets as participants carry the national flag. The event is being organised as part of a statewide Tricolour programme from August 9 to 17, under the directions of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and the Department of Art, Literature and Archaeology, Government of Rajasthan.

According to Jaipur District Collector Sandesh Nayak, the state‑level Tricolour rally will begin at around 9 a.m. on August 9 from Albert Hall Museum. Before the rally, Union Health Minister JP Nadda, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and MP Madan Rathod will pay floral tributes at the Amar Jawan Jyoti (Martyr Memorial) and honour the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation.

The rally will start from the Ram Niwas Bagh exit gate near Albert Hall and proceed through Sanganeri Gate and Johari Bazaar before concluding at Badi Chaupar. The district administration expects around 10,000 people to participate in the rally.

A large number of public representatives, administrative and police personnel, Army personnel, Anganwadi workers, college and school students, NCC cadets, Scouts and Guides, My Bharat volunteers, sportspersons, trade union representatives, pensioners, veterans and members of various non‑government organisations are expected to join the event.

The administration has appealed to citizens to participate in the rally in large numbers and make the programme a grand celebration of patriotism and national pride.

The Tricolour programme is part of a wider campaign being organised across Rajasthan from August 9 to 17, to encourage citizens to display the national flag and participate in activities celebrating India’s independence and patriotic spirit.
