Jyothi Surekha Vennam’s bronze medal at the 2025 Archery World Cup Final in Nanjing has been elevated to silver by World Archery. This change came after Mexico’s Marina Bernal was disqualified for breaching anti-doping regulations. Initially ranked third, Jyothi’s position was revised due to Bernal’s disqualification.
The disqualification of Marina Bernal was a result of a doping sample collected on September 29, 2025, which tested positive for an anabolic steroid. This violation led to Bernal’s ban until after the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, in accordance with World Archery Federation Rule 3.
Following the official decision by World Archery, Great Britain’s Ella Gibson has been awarded the bronze medal. Jyothi Surekha Vennam is now gearing up for the Archery World Cup Stage 4 in Madrid, where she has secured a spot in the national squad.
The Indian archery team is ready for the final stage of the Archery World Cup, featuring a mix of experienced athletes and promising talents in both recurve and compound events. Notable members of the squad include Dhiraj Bommadevara, Neeraj Chauhan, Atanu Das, Deepika Kumari, Kirti, Kummum Anil Mohod, Ankita Bhakat, Sahil Rajesh Jadhav, Kushal Dalal, Ganesh Thiru Muru, Rishabh Yadav, Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Taniparthi Chikitha, Prithika Pradeep, and Parneet Kaur.
