Born in Jhansi, 21-year-old Jyoti Singh is already making a name for herself in Indian hockey. She captained India at the FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup City of Santiago 2025 and made her senior debut last year, showcasing her talent in matches like the FIH Hockey Pro League 2024/25.

Jyoti’s sports journey began at a young age, accompanying her father, an international long-distance runner, to training grounds. Inspired by her cousin sister at age 11, she took up hockey. Reflecting on her path, Jyoti credits her family and coaches for unwavering support without pressure.

Moving to Madhya Pradesh to join the Women’s Hockey Academy in Gwalior, Jyoti pursued her dream of becoming a professional hockey player. Her career has been marked by achievements, including leading the junior Indian team to a Gold medal in the Women’s Junior Asia Cup 2024 and helping SG Pipers win the Women’s Hero Hockey India League title.

Despite her youth, Jyoti’s maturity and clear mindset have set her apart on the big stage. She emphasizes the importance of understanding one’s level and gradually improving to meet expectations, especially when playing alongside senior athletes.

As she gears up for the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 Qualifiers, Jyoti remains focused on honing her skills and giving her best for Indian women’s hockey during crucial upcoming events like the World Cup Qualifiers and Asian Games.
