Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao criticized the Congress government in Telangana for promoting corruption through a “loot-and-hide scheme” in the state. He alleged that Congress leaders, including Ministers and MLAs, were involved in corrupt practices across constituencies and schemes. Rao accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of overseeing high levels of corruption, which he claimed were unprecedented nationally.
K.T. Rama Rao also accused the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of colluding to protect each other from corruption charges. He highlighted the lack of investigations into serious allegations concerning Singareni Collieries and government schemes. Rao questioned the absence of formal inquiries following statements by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding corruption in the Telangana Congress.
The BRS leader alleged significant irregularities in the Singareni Collieries Company Limited, suggesting a major scam involving thousands of crores. He criticized the influence of individuals associated with the Chief Minister’s family on contract allocations and condemned the Centre’s silence despite holding a 49% stake in the company.
K.T. Rama Rao warned of escalated protests by the BRS if the issues faced by workers in Singareni were not resolved. He vowed to organize demonstrations at every coal mine if corruption persisted and workers’ grievances were disregarded. The BRS leader also accused the Congress of undermining democratic norms in Kyathanpalli municipality, citing the use of police force and intimidation despite losing local elections.
Reaffirming the BRS’s dedication to workers and grassroots democracy, K.T. Rama Rao urged the public to reject the alleged corrupt practices and back the BRS in forthcoming local and Singareni elections. He expressed optimism about the BRS’s prospects in reclaiming political influence in Mancherial district and throughout Telangana in the next election cycle.
