Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K. T. Rama Rao expressed strong disapproval towards the Central government for calling off the NEET undergraduate exam due to question paper leaks. Rao emphasized that the Central government should feel ashamed that the situation had deteriorated to the extent of canceling the entire exam because of the NEET question paper leak.
He accused the Central government of endangering the futures of numerous students who had dedicatedly prepared day and night. Rao highlighted that this incident marked another instance of a paper leak due to the NDA government’s inefficiency in conducting exams. He stressed that the lack of learning from the 2024 NEET question paper leak had led to a recurring pattern of incompetence in organizing national eligibility exams, severely impacting students.
Rao pointed out that the revelation of over a hundred leaked questions a day before the exam had exposed significant flaws in the system. He criticized the Central Government for causing mental distress to nearly 23 lakh students who had taken the NEET exam this year, along with their parents.
Demanding a high-level inquiry into the question paper leakage issue, Rao stressed the need for stringent actions against all involved parties, regardless of their influence. He called for the immediate re-conduction of the NEET exam with heightened security measures to ensure the protection of students’ academic prospects. Rao insisted that the Central government must take accountability for the NEET paper leak and issue a formal apology to the affected students and their families.
R. S. Praveen Kumar, another BRS leader, expressed disappointment over the National Testing Agency’s decision to cancel the NEET examination due to question paper leaks in Rajasthan. Kumar lamented the distressing news surrounding NEET, which surfaced amidst ongoing reports of alleged atrocities against minor girls in Telangana. He criticized the BJP leadership for their consistent negligence towards education issues compared to their focus on business, elections, and communal tensions.
Kumar highlighted the uncertainty faced by hundreds of thousands of students nationwide, emphasizing the gravity of the situation for the student community. He questioned the accountability of Prime Minister Modi in the wake of these challenges, raising concerns about the country’s direction.
