Bollywood star Kajol took a trip down memory lane as her beloved film ‘Fanaa’ completed two decades since its release. Sharing throwback stills with co-star Aamir Khan, Kajol reminisced about the challenging yet unforgettable moments during the shoot. The actress also mentioned using the film’s iconic song ‘Mere Haath Mein Tera Haath Ho’ in the background.
‘Fanaa’, released in 2006, featured Aamir Khan and Kajol in leading roles, with actors like Rishi Kapoor, Kirron Kher, and Tabu in significant roles. Directed by Kunal Kohli and produced by Yash Raj Films, the movie depicted the emotional love story of Zooni, a visually impaired Kashmiri woman played by Kajol, and Rehan, portrayed by Aamir Khan, whose hidden identity alters their lives forever.
The film garnered immense love for its music, performances, and emotional narrative, becoming one of the year’s biggest hits. Kajol revealed that during the filming, her daughter Nysa was two-and-a-half years old, while her son Yug had not yet been born. Even today, the movie’s soundtrack, featuring songs like ‘Mere Haath Mein’, ‘Chand Sifarish’, ‘Dekho Na’, and ‘Des Rangila’, remains iconic.
‘Fanaa’ marked the second collaboration between Kajol and Aamir Khan after ‘Ishq’. Unlike ‘Ishq’, where Kajol was paired with Ajay Devgn and Aamir with Juhi Chawla, ‘Fanaa’ was the first film to cast Kajol and Aamir as romantic leads.
