Amidst the controversy over AR Rahman’s ‘communal’ remark, Kangana Ranaut shared her negative experience with the composer during her film “Emergency.” Kangana expressed her eagerness to narrate the script to Rahman while making the movie, but he declined to meet her, stating his reluctance to be part of what he deemed a propaganda film.
In a post on Instagram Stories, Kangana criticized Rahman for prejudice and hate, mentioning her disappointment at his refusal to engage with her project. She highlighted the positive reception of “Emergency” by critics and even opposition leaders, praising the film’s balanced and compassionate approach.
Rahman, speaking to BBC Asian Network, revealed his limited work opportunities in Bollywood recently. He mentioned receiving indirect reasons for this situation, attributing it to “Chinese whispers” and suggesting that non-creative individuals now wield decision-making power in the industry.
