Actress Karisma Kapoor honored her late ex-husband, Sunjay Kapur, on his first death anniversary by sharing a heartfelt post on social media. Posting on her official Instagram Stories, she marked the date “12/6/2025” with the words “Sunjay in our hearts forever (sic),” accompanied by emojis of folded hands, a white heart, and a dove.
The tribute comes amid a legal dispute involving Karisma’s children, Sunjay’s widow Priya Sachdev Kapur, his mother Rani Kapur, and other Kapur family members over the businessman’s 30,000 crore estate. Priya Sachdev also expressed her emotions on social media, remembering her late husband as an inspiring figure who embraced life with energy and conviction, leaving a lasting impact on those around him.
Sunjay Kapur, who passed away in England, reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest after accidentally swallowing a bee while playing polo. Karisma Kapoor, along with her children Samaira and Kiaan, attended his last rites in Delhi, with support from her sister Kareena Kapoor Khan and brother-in-law Saif Ali Khan.
Karisma and Sunjay tied the knot in a Sikh ceremony in 2003 but later divorced in 2016 after filing for mutual consent in 2014. In the same year, Karisma filed a domestic violence case against Sunjay and his mother. The former couple shares two children, daughter Samaira, and son Kiaan.
