The Karnataka government has taken action following the closure of airspace in several Middle Eastern countries, leading to the stranding of international passengers, including those from Karnataka. Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) issued by multiple countries have disrupted international flight operations, as confirmed by Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda. The closure of airspace over various countries like Iran, Israel, and Saudi Arabia is expected to last until March 2, causing significant travel disruptions.

Authorities have reported a large number of stranded passengers, with a focus on those stuck in the UAE, particularly in Dubai. In response to directives from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda, the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC) and District Emergency Operations Centres (DEOCs) are now fully operational around the clock. These centers are actively monitoring the situation and providing necessary assistance to those affected.

Efforts are underway to keep track of advisories from the Ministry of External Affairs and Indian diplomatic missions in the affected countries. The Karnataka Resident Commissioner has mobilized the Karnataka Bhavan team in New Delhi to coordinate response efforts. Helpline numbers and advisories from Indian embassies have been shared with district emergency centers and disseminated through official social media channels to raise public awareness.

Close coordination is being maintained between the SEOC, the Office of the Karnataka Resident Commissioner in New Delhi, and the Rapid Response Cell of the Ministry of External Affairs. Requests for assistance received at state and district emergency centers are being compiled and forwarded for necessary action. Residents of Karnataka in the affected Middle Eastern countries are advised to adhere to local guidelines, contact Indian embassies, and register on designated portals for assistance.

Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda emphasized that both the Chief Minister and he are closely monitoring the evolving situation. Updates will be provided as needed, given the fluid nature of the circumstances.
