Karnataka BJP’s State General Secretary and senior MLA V. Sunil Kumar has called for the immediate public disclosure of the report by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the Dharmasthala case. He expressed concern over the delay in revealing the findings, emphasizing the need to identify those responsible for the incident. Sunil Kumar criticized the tarnishing of Dharmasthala’s reputation and highlighted the shocking statements made in court by an accused individual linked to a broader conspiracy.
The BJP leader raised questions about the SIT’s handling of the case, particularly regarding discrepancies between the court statements and the investigation’s progress. He emphasized the importance of transparency in understanding the motives behind the incident and urged for a thorough public discussion on the matter. Sunil Kumar also referenced Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar’s supportive stance towards Dharmasthala and emphasized the need for decisive action against those defaming the religious site.
Meanwhile, Karnataka BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra alleged a conspiracy to malign the Dharmasthala Sri Manjunatheshwara Temple and provoke religious sentiments. He called for an investigation into potential foreign involvement in the controversy surrounding the temple. Recent developments have seen claims by a key figure, Chinnayya, suggesting his manipulation in a plot to discredit Dharmasthala. Authorities are considering action against activists involved in the agitation against the temple management, following these revelations. Chinnayya further alleged financial incentives and the involvement of public figures in the scheme to target the temple.
