The Karnataka unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has scheduled a series of events from April 13 to 20 across the state to commemorate the birth anniversary of B. R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution. Former Deputy Chief Minister Govind Karjol announced the party’s initiative to organize Ambedkar Jayanti events in all districts and taluks of Karnataka. Karjol emphasized Ambedkar’s role as a champion of social justice and equality, highlighting his significant contributions to the nation’s progress.
Various programs will be conducted in Karnataka to promote Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s ideology among the public, as stated by Jagadish Hiremani, a member of the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Birth Anniversary National Committee. These initiatives aim to clean and honor statues, circles, roads, and memorials associated with Ambedkar, with special events like “Bhima Deepotsava” planned as part of the celebrations. Hiremani also mentioned the educational programs scheduled from April 15 to 20 to raise awareness about Ambedkar’s remarkable contributions to society.
Efforts are underway to inform the public about Ambedkar’s principles through seminars, discussions, and social media campaigns, including videos and pamphlets, according to Hiremani. These activities will focus on PM Modi’s ‘Panchteerth’ project and his endeavors to honor the Constitution’s architect. Hiremani highlighted the importance of spreading Ambedkar’s ideology to various sections of society, including hostels, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe colonies, and all communities, underscoring the legacy of equality and empowerment advocated by Ambedkar.
